This application originated as a Pocket PC (Windows Mobile) program which I created
about 2 years ago. I felt that it would be more useful as a web application which is why
it is now ported to use ASP.NET with a sprinkling of AJAX. If you want the Windows
Mobile version, I will be putting an updated version on the downloads page in the near
future - check back soon.

I'm a guitarist myself and have been playing since 1986. It was always my goal to be able
to improvise in the style of Allan Holdsworth and Yngwie Malmsteen. Although these two
guys' actual approaches differs somewhat - what they have in common is a total
command and knowledge of the guitar neck. This became my aspiration to know as many
scales, chords, arpeggios and patterns in as many positions as possible; in fact (and on
this I am still working) I am trying to eliminate 'positions' altogether and 'see' all the notes
on the neck simultaneously. I realistically expect this to continue for the rest of my life.

So, that's what this site is for - to show me the different scales and shapes in the
different keys. There are no adverts and no extra crap. More than anything, it's for me
to use, but if you enjoy it, I am glad.
